My Bio

Career

I started working at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe at the start of 2012 as an Online Designer for a number of web projects within the PlayStation family.

In 2010 I joined VideoGamer.com as a full time front-end web designer and developer in London. My first task was to redesign their successful website. I later worked mostly on designing and developing the front end for their new social features. I thoroughly enjoyed the freedom I had structuring the user experience and focussed my attention towards designing intuitive user interfaces.

Previous to this I was a full time member of the team at the award-winning web design studio, Createanet, where I worked primarily as a front-end designer and developer for 6 years. The eclectic nature of working in a design agency resulted in my time being spent not just creating websites but also producing work in animation, photography, video production, and print.

It was here that I worked on hundreds of websites and design projects that taught me how to work with clients and deliver solid websites to meet their needs. It also educated me firsthand in the progression of trends and practices in web design over recent years.

When I'm Not Working

I'm passionate about websites but I also enjoy other forms of creative media. I started a technology and gaming culture podcast Is It The Future Yet? in 2010 with two industry friends. I built a web presence and identity for the podcast and we've seen pleasing results in listenership and support from Apple on the iTunes store.

During college I designed and built a video-based Flash website. I populated the site with short movies that I filmed and edited. After the YouTube boom the website was redesigned as a hub to direct viewers to a YouTube channel featuring the same videos. I still enjoy video production and like to try my hand at After Effects tutorials.
