Career
I started working at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe at the start of 2012 as an Online Designer for a number of projects within the PlayStation family.
In 2010 I joined the VideoGamer.com team in London as a full time web designer and front-end developer. I was employed to redesign their successful website and work hands-on in creating a new experience for their users using the latest technologies. I thoroughly enjoyed the freedom I had structuring the UX process and designing the interface incrementally.
Back in 2004 I joined a local award-winning web design firm, Createanet, where I worked primarily as a designer and front-end developer. The eclectic nature of working in a design studio meant I spent my time not just creating websites but also producing work in animation, photography, video production, and print.
During this time I worked on hundreds of websites and design projects which taught me how to work with clients and deliver solid websites that meet their needs. It also educated me firsthand in the progression through trends and practices in web design over recent years.
When I'm Not Working
I'm passionate about websites but I also enjoy other forms of creative media. I set up the technology and gaming culture podcast Is It The Future Yet? in 2010 with two video game industry friends. I built a web presence and identity for the podcast and we've seen pleasing results in listenership and support from Apple on the iTunes store.
During college I designed and built a video-based Flash website. I populated the site with short movies that I filmed and edited. After the YouTube boom the website was redesigned as a hub to direct viewers to a YouTube channel featuring the same videos. I still enjoy video production and like to try my hand at After Effects tutorials.
