A healthy full time job really doesn’t leave much time or energy to keep a portfolio updated but I think even though it can be difficult it’s well worth setting your free time aside to do so.

The last time I updated my portfolio was when I was freelance, since getting a full time job I have not touched it since. It’s not because I don’t want to, or that I don’t understand why it’s good to keep it up to date but I just struggle to find time. 
I’ve found that if you enjoy your job and expel much of your creative energy at work, you don’t have much left for personal projects in your spare time. Likewise, I’ve had times when I’ve been somewhat bored in my day job and crammed in multiple projects in my spare time.
